Our Placement Process

Our candidates are extensively screened for professionalism, experience, and compatibility.

Moonlit Cradles candidates must accomplish the following before applying to a role:

  • Complete an application and professional knowledge assessment.

  • Have a minimum of three years of experience related to the role.

  • Submit 3 professional references that reflect strong character, reliability, and quality care.

  • Complete a face to face interview with a placement specialist.

  • Pass verification of education, certifications, and professional training.

  • Pass a social media review to ensure honesty, and appropriate online conduct.

  • Desire to commit to a year long contract minimum with their hiring family.

  •  Demonstrate a passion for childcare, household service, and ethics.

  • Complete a comprehensive 50 state criminal background screening.

  • Complete drug testing when required for a specific placement.

  • Submit verification of legal eligibility to work in the United States.

  • Complete a motor vehicle record check when applying for roles that require driving the child.

Which role best suits your family’s needs?

Nanny - Moonlit Cradles places nannies with families who have any children ages 4 and under. Nannies solely care for the children, completing household tasks that are only related to the children. These are our dedicated, creative, developmentally mindful caregivers.

Family Assistant - The Family Assistant role is best suited for families with school aged children. Their purpose in the home is uniquely defined by the family’s needs. Planning and executing a fun summer day, supervising homework time, light housekeeping, grocery runs, ordering and inventory upkeep for the home, and school pickups/drop-offs all fall under the category of Family Assistant.

You Can Expect the Following From Your Hired Nanny

  • Complete Child Care

    Your Nanny can take care of all of your child’s needs, from first wake to bedtime. Bathing, diapering, laundering, outings, homework help, play time - it’s all covered.

  • Scheduling

    When it’s time to reduce or add a nap, fit a ballet class into the day, or figure a way to see family more often, your Nanny will work the schedule until everyone has their needs met.

  • Travel with Family

    Whether you are taking a trip into town to visit a friend, or jet-setting to a new continent, your Nanny will have the children’s belongings packed, and a fun itinerary planned when needed.

  • Safety and Security

    You have the right to live a secure life and your child must be safe at all times. Your Nanny will practice safe child care, and understand the importance of discretion when considering safety as well.

  • Purchasing

    Your nanny can be responsible for purchasing all of your baby’s clothing and toys, scheduling classes, and keeping inventory of hygienic needs within the budget provided.



  • Development

    Your Nanny will dedicate themself to supporting your child’s advancement in cognitive, social, physical, and emotional development each day through activities, outings, and creative and fun play.

  • Communication

    You and your Nanny will establish preferred methods of communication, and those communication lines will stay open and thorough.

  • Nurturing Care

    Your Nanny will provide attentive nurturing to your children, encouraging bonding and trust. A strong rapport, so your little ones feel comforted and calm when you’re away.

Nanny and Family Assistant

Fee Structure

Moonlit Cradles requires families to pay a search initiation fee of $1000.00 before candidate recruitment can begin for your position.

An additional placement fee of $1,000 for Nanny Candidates, and $2,000 for Family Assistant Candidates, is due once your selected candidate has agreed to the terms of the position.

In addition to finding, vetting, and matching quality caregivers, these service fees include a 45 day assurance of placement, as well as access to candidate support for 12 months.
